It's all about the switch!!
Fact!! Most pump failures are not the pump itself, but the pump switch.
KBS uses a double float switch and full diagnostic box which results in 30% better pump reliability. If the primary switch fails, a warning chime and diagnostic light alerts the homeowner that service is needed.
Traditional Pits - Common Problems/Issues
- Placed too deep, these can undermine the footing of your home, as the bottom half of the pit is rendered useless due to switch placement.
- Few or no holes in sides allows little water volume in and doesn't take advantage of irrigation stone under your slab
- Non-sealed top, allowing moisture into the air of your basement which can cause a multitude of problems

- Placing sump pump down 17" deep - won't undermine the walls of your basement
- Has full perforated sides facing into the basement which flows a great deal of water into pits
- Solid sides facing walls prevents undermining
- Sealed top with rubber grommets
What is undermining?
Undermining occurs when water runs under the wall base (or dusting). This washes out soil and can cause major structural damage!
Back up alarms and diagnostics
Every sump pump installation comes with a connection to your home alarm system that will alert the fire department in the event you are not home. We also install a 9 volt battery alarm to notify anyone at home of a pump failure.
